Type 1

Type 1 Diabetes

Approximately 10 per cent of all adults with diabetes mellitus have type 1. Type 1 diabetes is treated by insulin injections. Type 1 diabetes can develop at any age but is usually diagnosed below the age of 40. This section explains type 1 diabetes mellitus discussing causes and treatment while providing links to other resources.
