My Diabetes My Way: March 2018 Update

Welcome to the My Diabetes My Way Newsletter for March 2018.

17,500 Active Users!
During the last few days, My Diabetes My Way reached a milestone of 17,500 people logging in to access their diabetes records. We would like to thank you all for contributing to this achievement. This helps us to provide evidence that the service is helping people with their diabetes self-management by assisting them with education about their condition.

We also celebrated this milestone by meeting with our funders at the Scottish Government, who have confirmed their continuing support.

World Health Day
In advance of World Health Day, we should consider how eHealth systems have changed our lives. World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 7th April, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO). This year is also WHO’s 70th anniversary.

WHO are promoting “Universal Health Coverage” which includes increasing access to new innovative health technologies. The ultimate aim is that patients with all conditions will have the option to use a resource such as My Diabetes My Way to help manage their heath. Smoking and Diabetes

Even if you do not have diabetes, smoking increases your risk of heart disease, stroke and cancer. Smoking narrows your blood vessels, and healthy blood vessels are very important for people with diabetes. There are numerous resources available for further reading which provide support in taking the next steps to a healthier future. Phone “Quit Your Way Scotland” on 0800 848484 or see the following links:
